We spend our lives trying to be happy, but far too often, we don't actually stop and ask ourselves what exactly we mean by 'happiness'.

CASE STUDY: A wanted to lose weight desperately. She had tried many diets which always failed. Her friend told her that the reason why she hadn’t managed to lose weight was all in her head so she asked me for coaching. I guided her towards discovery of some self- limiting beliefs (i.e. my mum was overweight so I have to be too) which held her at the point she was (a stone overweight). Her dream was to be size 12. She set a goal to lose a stone in two months. Every week with my encouragement she set the SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timed – with the date) goals related to meals and enjoyable exercises. In the meantime she practised visualisations of herself in size 12 Monsoon dress and repeated some positive affirmations (once a day) which helped her to change her self-limiting beliefs into new ones: ‘I can be slim because this is what I really want'.
